The primary philosophy of the EMS program department, staff, and instructors is to offer the student the finest and most complete training in Emergency Medical Services and several Allied Health Care Programs. FMTI desires to enable the student to become not only certified but to be confident in their skills and knowledge upon completion of the program. The administration, faculty and staff are dedicated to producing a quality educational program.
The Emergency Medical Technician program is the entrance level into the emergency medical services field, with the advanced level being the Paramedic.

The school maintains membership to several professional organizations, including the National Association of EMT, National Association of EMS Educators, Florida association of EMS Educators and the Florida Fire Chief Association.
All FMTI campuses are readily accessible to handicapped students. Library resource center is available for students and faculty, during operating hours 9 am - 6 pm.
Florida Medical Training Institute Objectives:To work with employees, community, alumni, and FMTI faculty and staff to continually evaluate curriculum for the quality of graduates. Assess each student in training for the State or National Certification in their prospective field. To provide an array of Continuing Education for alumni and others when maintaining their certifications in their Allied Health fields and to professionally enhance their occupation.
